POS acceptanceAlmost all merchants accept UnionPay cards. Merchants include major airports hotels, tourist attractions, local craft stores, etc. Since that some of the merchants have yet to put up the UnionPay signage, cardholders may show their UnionPay cards upon the till and inquire about UnionPay acceptance.Dual brand cards are not accepted as UnionPay cards in South Africa, please use UnionPay single-branded card (card number starting with 62) to enjoy various UnionPay offers.

Cash withdrawalIn South Africa, almost all ATMs accept UnionPay cards. UnionPay cards can be accepted for withdrawing South African Rand and for balance inquiry First National Bank, ABSA Bank, Standard Bank and Nedbank. Tips
