UnionPay International joined hands with China Construction Bank (CCB) today to issue two UnionPay CCB debit cards (card number starting with 62) in Russia, which further enrich the UnionPay card product categories in the Russian market and provide local residents with more convenient, secure and preferential payment services for their daily spending and international travels.

The two UnionPay debit cards issued this time take Ruble and US dollar as the settlement currency respectively in order to satisfy different needs of cardholders. In cooperation with banks, UnionPay International has already issued multiple types of UnionPay cards including UnionPay platinum card and gold card to cater to the needs of local cardholders.

Like all other UnionPay cards, the cards can be used at the global UnionPay acceptance network across more than 150 countries and regions. In China, they are accepted by POS terminals of almost all merchants as well as by all ATMs. Currently, UnionPay cards are accepted by more than 100,000 POS terminals and more than 30,000 ATMs in Russia, which are located in large malls, supermarkets, restaurants, duty free shops and other daily consumer places in major cities including Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Influenced by the devaluation of the Ruble, Russia recently becomes one of the hot destinations of Chinese tourists. During the Spring Festival, the transaction volume through UnionPay cards has witnessed a substantial growth.
