Air Canada Accepts UnionPay Cards at its Official Website

UnionPay International announced today its partnership with Air Canada so that UnionPay debit and credit cards issued worldwide can now be accepted at the official website of Air Canada, providing UnionPay cardholders with a more convenient ticket-booking experience. Air Canada has also become the first airline in Canada that accepts UnionPay online payment service.

As the largest airline in Canada, Air Canada operates flights to more than 220 destinations covering six continents, and operates eight non-stop routes between China and Canada. From now on, after selecting flights and filling out personal information, passengers can choose UnionPay as payment method on Air Canada’s official website. Once the transaction is completed, the payment page will be automatically redirected to the booking confirmation page. UnionPay online payment system applies multiple security technologies and risk control methods to ensure the safety of online transactions.

The acceptance environment of UnionPay card in Canada keeps improving. As for now, more than 300,000 merchants in the local market have accepted UnionPay cards, covering a wide range of payment scenarios including dinning, shopping, entertainment and transportation. Canada is also the first stop of UnionPay APP in North America. UnionPay APP users can scan QR code or use contactless payment at thousands of restaurants and supermarkets in Canada.
