From May 20 to 22, UnionPay International and CITS participate in the “2016 Beijing International Tourism Expo” hand in hand, and jointly launch multiple exclusive privileges for UnionPay cards (card number starting with 62) and hundreds of selected traveling routes. The two sides also jointly publicize UnionPay overseas card-using information and special offers at merchants. This is the third year that UnionPay International partners with CITS to participate in the Expo.
During the Expo, UnionPay cardholders can enjoy two privileges: First, cardholders can register for selected traveling routes on spot and pay with UnionPay QuickPass or mobile QuickPass to enjoy added discount (“100 off for each 1000” with the highest deduction of RMB 600). Second, when paying with domestically-issued UnionPay cards overseas for a certain amount, cardholders can apply for card-using award online at the official website of CITS and obtain a gift card worthy of RMB 200 or 500.
With the continuous increase of the Chinese outbound tourists, UnionPay International is cooperating with various parties in the industry to enhance tourist service level. On the one hand, UPI has carried out in-depth cooperation with multiple travel agencies like CITS, CTS, CYTS, Spring and Autumn, Caesar and Tuniu in launching overseas card-using award, hot tour groups and outbound tourism promotions to accurately cover outbound tourists.
