During the promotion period, users get an RMB 50-off voucher when completing a tax refund transaction over RMB 100 using a UnionPay card at a participating merchant. The voucher will be issued to the same UnionPay card used for the refund, and can be redeemed for any purchase over RMB 50 by tapping, swiping or inserting the UnionPay card at any merchant in Shanghai that accept UnionPay cards. Each card is limited to receiving and using one voucher during the promotion period. The vouchers are limited in number and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Voucher Validity Period:

The voucher is valid for 30 calendar days starting from and including the date when the user receives it. If fewer than 30 days remain before the end of the promotion period, the promotion end date shall apply. Expired vouchers will not be reissued.

(IV) Voucher-Accepting Merchants 

Cardholders may redeem their voucher at any merchant in Shanghai that accepts UnionPay cards by tapping, swiping, or inserting. These do not include Freshippo stores (also known as “Hema” in Mandarin) or merchants using WeChat Pay Personal Payment Collection QR Code, WeChat Pay Individual Business QR Code, WeChat Pay Merchant QR Code, or Alipay Personal Payment Collection QR Code. The eventual payment status displayed at the time of purchase shall prevail.

1. Users who meet any one of the following criteria—using the same device, the same registered mobile number, the same mobile number associated with a bank card, the same physical-card number, or the same app account—are considered one and the same user. To redeem the voucher, users must visit the stores in person and pay with their own electronic device, app account, bank card, etc.
2. The default discount application priority in the UnionPay App is: Instant Discount/Coupon > External Points > Red Packets. You can change this priority by going to Me – Settings – Payment Settings – Discount Usage Order.
3. Users are not permitted to split orders. Only one payment should be made at the checkout counter per queuing; multiple payments require rejoining the queue. If a user violates the queueing rules, the cashier has the right to reject that user’s subsequent participation in the promotion.
4. If a transaction to which a voucher has been applied is subject to a reversal, such as a return of products or cancellation of the transaction, this will be deemed as the user forfeiting the voucher, and the actual amount paid for the order will be refunded to the user’s original payment card; the voucher will be deemed as having already been used.
5. The voucher will not be reissued if a user has been unable to use the voucher due to personal reasons—for instance, the user’s electronic device does not support the feature, the device is offline, the mobile location service is turned off, the app version is not the latest, the card is lost, or the card is being replaced.
6. The discounts and benefits issued through this promotion are for the user’s personal use only. If a user obtains or uses the discounts through improper means—including but not limited to altering the user’s location, using unauthorized third-party tools, or engaging in fraudulent transactions with merchants—China UnionPay reserves the right to disqualify the user from participation in the promotion, revoke the transactions involved, reclaim the discount/benefits (including both used and unused ones), freeze the user’s account, and bar the user in question from participating in any future UnionPay promotional activities.
7. Only transactions processed through the UnionPay network are eligible for applying the voucher. Stored-value products, such as prepaid cards, as well as tobacco and alcohol products, are excluded from this promotion.
8. All the times involved in this promotion shall be based on the times recorded in China UnionPay’s backend system (Beijing Time). In the event of force majeure or changes in circumstances (such as major disasters, orders from competent authorities requiring suspension or adjustment, system failures necessitating suspension, violations of the promotion rules or cheating during the promotion period that harm consumer rights), UnionPay reserves the right, to the extent permitted by law, to adjust, suspend, or terminate this promotion, effective upon public announcement.
9. By participating in this promotion, users are deemed to have understood and agreed to these terms and conditions. If users find any discrepancy between the published information about participating stores and the actual situation, they may contact UnionPay, which will coordinate a resolution.
