Online payment launched under joint cooperation between UnionPay International and KCB

The other day, UnionPay International and Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) have entered into a cooperation agreement to enable all the latter’s e-merchants to accept UnionPay cards (card number starting with 62), so as to promote digital payment in Kenya and East Africa region.

From now on, cardholders can pay with UnionPay cards at many e-merchants in East Africa, including the well-known Kaymu and e-Citizen, as well as the official websites of major hotels and resorts.

UnionPay International is enhancing its cooperation with major institutions in Africa to assist realizing financial inclusion in the developing countries in Africa. Now, UnionPay has expanded to 48 countries in Africa, and Mauritius, Kenya, Seychelles, and Congo (Kinshasa) have issued multiple UnionPay card products.
