Reminder from UnionPay International: Stay Alert to Phishing SMS Messages and Websites
2024-04-11

We have recently become aware of the phishing SMS messages purportedly from UnionPay International. These messages claim that the user’s UnionPay App (Yunshanfu, or 云闪付 in Chinese) points are expiring or account abnormality, and then direct them to a fake website where user’s credit card or UnionPay App account information is stolen. The stolen credit card information is then directly or enrolled on the UnionPay App for fraudulent transactions.

We confirm to have no connection with such counterfeit websites. The link to our official website is https://www.unionpayintl.com/. We remind you to always check the hyperlinks with extra care and not to open any link of unknown origin, or provide any information on suspicious websites.

Additionally, the UnionPay App points reward program is not available in Hong Kong or Macao. Please ignore such SMS messages and do not fall prey to the scam. As we are not able to rule out any future fraud in the name of our company, in case of doubts please call our service hotline at 800-967-222, or contact the police when necessary.  If you have unfortunately fallen victim to such scams, please contact the police immediately, and reach out to us and your card issuer to freeze the account.
